LORAIN, Ohio — The Lorain Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in a home invasion, which left a man dead.

It happened just before 3 a.m. Saturday, at an apartment in the 4100 block of Shore Drive. Officers responded to 911 calls reporting “loud banging” and shots being fired.  When they arrived, police say they found 23-year-old David Barriero dead.

Investigators say Abline Cannon, 37, is a suspect in this homicide.  Cannon went to University Hospitals/EMH campus with a gunshot wound to his arm.  He was then transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for further treatment.  Against medical advice, Cannon left the hospital after treatment.

Police say Cannon should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should contact the Lorain Police Department, or 1-888-4-WANTED, immediately.
