President-elect Donald Trump praises first responders at Ohio State after attack
COLUMBUS- President-elect Donald Trump has issued a statement on the campus attack at Ohio State University.
“The suspect, who was later shot and killed by police, ran into a group of pedestrians on a street corner with his vehicle before using a weapon to cut several people,” OSU President Dr. Michael Drake said. Police also said the assailant used a butcher knife.
Nine people were hospitalized after the attack Monday at Ohio State University, Columbus Fire spokeswoman Rebecca Diehm said. Eight are in stable condition, and one is in critical condition, she said.
Trump offered his thoughts and prayers to Ohio State University students and staff following the attack Monday morning.
Trump said in a Facebook post, “Watching the news unfold at Ohio State University. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the students and administration.
Excellent job by the Ohio State University Emergency Management Team (OSU_EMFP) in immediately notifying students & faculty via social media with the message: “Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College.”
