ODOT says it’s preparing to combat freezing on highways this weekend
CLEVELAND– With a chance of rain and snow overnight, the Ohio Department of Transportation will have crews ready.
ODOT said District 12 will be on checking highways for frost and light freezing during Thanksgiving weekend.
There will be 12 crews out in Cuyahoga County, and eight each in Lake and Geauga counties beginning at midnight on Friday. According to ODOT, trucks will be applying salt to roads to combat freezing.
The department said it will not pre-treat or use brine because of the possibility of rain changing to ice early Saturday morning.
FOX 8 News meteorologist AJ Coldy said the weak clipper Friday night will produce light rain and show, but it’s unlikely we’ll see significant accumulation.
