CLEVELAND-- Close friends of 16-year-old Alexander Mullins stopped at the vacant house on East 54th Street in Cleveland Monday to drop off a teddy bear on the front porch.

“I am shocked this happened,” said Shannon Dowdy.  “He was a kid.”

Friends and family members said they have many questions about Mullins' death. Police reports stated Mullins had been shot in his left chest area.

He had been missing since Nov. 9.

His family had been actively looking for him, even having community members help with search parties.

Mary Ann Dowdy said his phone was pinging on East 50th.

“The last phone call was to 911,” Dowdy said.

The Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s are continuing to investigate to determine the exact cause of death.
