Man wanted for assault on Indians’ fan after World Series Game 6

CLEVELAND– Cleveland police are looking for the man suspected of attacking a Cleveland Indians fan after Game 6 of the World Series.

The 35-year-old victim was walking from Progressive Field back to his downtown hotel at about 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 when he was assaulted and robbed.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 24-year-old Anthony Johnson, the Cleveland Division of Police said on Monday. A warrant was issued, but he has not been arrested.

The victim, an Indians fan from Coral Gables, Florida, suffered a fractured jaw, concussion and dental injuries, families members said. He remembers leaving the ballpark and waking up in an ambulance.

Last week, police released several photos of two suspects. According to the department, the man in the red shirt assault the victim while the other man used the stolen credit cards.
