Interstate 277 east in Akron back open after garbage truck overturns

AKRON, Ohio– A portion of Interstate 277 east in Akron was closed because of an overturned garbage truck, Akron police say.

The highway was shut down between Interstate 76 and and Waterloo Road, according to ODOT.

Police said the trash truck spilled its load onto I-277. It was closed for nearly four hours.

The driver was trapped inside, but his injuries didn’t appear to be serious, police said.
