MADISON, Ohio -- It's time to start thinking 'turkey' and all things that go along with a delicious turkey dinner. Some of the wineries in the Grand River Valley want to help you pair Thanksgiving side dishes with the right wine.
Fox 8's Wayne Dawson learned more about this annual event and Ferrante chef Nina Salerno shared the recipe she is making for this year's Turkey Trot.

Ferrante’s Cranberry Pursette
8 4x4 pasty squares
2 cups cranberry sauce (homemade or store bought, just be sure to mix it until it's smooth)*
8 slices bacon, cooked through but not too crispy
4 ounces Feta cheese
1 white onion, caramelized
- Fry bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through but not crispy (the bacon will crisp up in the oven). Once cooked chop bacon into small pieces; set aside.
- Cut puff pastry square diagonally and fill with 1 tablespoon cranberry sauce, bacon, feta & caramelized onions. Take the two longest sides of the puff pastry and wrap like a bow.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.
Serve with a glass of Ferrante’s Cranberry Blanc.
