CLEVELAND - Sure, Christmas may be exactly two months away, but many Clevelanders could argue that Christmas has come early this Tuesday as the Indians play Game 1 of the World Series and the Cavs get their rings, raise the banner and start their season.
This is not a dream. This is real. And it's a great time to be a Clevelander!
Here's how it's all going to happen:
First the Cleveland Cavaliers will be honored at Quicken Loans Arena in a pregame ring and banner ceremony.
Then, the Cleveland Indians take center stage at Progressive Field as they take on the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 of the World Series on FOX 8.
Here's everything you need to know about the huge night that is planned:
World Series Game 1: 8:08 p.m.
Gates open: 5:30 p.m.
Watch all the World Series action on FOX 8
**Fox 8 is your official World Series station. The games will appear on our air, and we'll be offering complete coverage of the series**
Game begins at 7:30 p.m.
Doors to The Q open at 5 p.m.
Fans are urged to arrive early and be in their seats by 6:45 p.m.
The pregame ring and banner ceremony will begin promptly at 7 p.m.
Across the street from The Q, there will be a FREE concert and Cavs watch party in the Huron (Stark) surface parking lot beginning at 3 p.m.
Wiz Khalifa will perform, along with the Cavalier Girls dance team, Scream Team hip-hop troupe, QStix drumline; there will also be appearances by Cavs mascot Sir C.C. and more.
As you can imagine, there will be HUGE crowds at these events; that, along with the evening work commute, will cause traffic delays, so you're encouraged to ARRIVE EARLY.
