Bond set for suspect in Mr. Hero deadly robbery involving 15-year-old boy

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS -- Bond has been set at one million dollars for the suspect accused of robbing a Cleveland Heights Mr.Hero last Friday and killing a 15-year-old boy.

Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said Daveion Perry, 20, of Cleveland Heights is facing several charges including aggravated murder and robbery.

The chief said Perry has been arrested before and was currently out on bond awaiting sentencing for a burglary charge when he committed the robbery in Cleveland Heights.

Family members of murder victim Sunny Patel were at the Cleveland Heights police department Tuesday to discuss the case with police and prosecutors.

Patel was killed during a robbery and shooting at the Mr. Hero on South Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights Friday evening.

Sunny was helping his uncle at the restaurant when the robbery happened.

The suspect was arrested Sunday night when he attempted to rob another business in Cleveland Heights.

Police say the suspect is also believed to be the same person who robbed a Subway in University Heights Saturday night.
