Video: Good Samaritans link arms, use human chain to save man from burning car

PALM BAY, Florida -- Cell phone video captures witnesses scrambling to help after an SUV careened off the road and toward a river, bursting into flames in Palm Bay, Florida.

WESH reports that several bystanders climbed down to the car.

For an unknown reason, the driver did not want help and was combative. The two Palm Bay police officers who arrived tazed and handcuffed the driver in order to get him up the hill, but it was steep and help was needed.

At least half a dozen men formed a human chain to help pull the victim to safety.

One of the Good Samaritans, Tom Sais, said he is glad he got to be part of such a touching act of courage and kindness.

"Strangers coming together for a common goal saving a man's life," he said. "It was beautiful, it was beautiful."
