CLEVELAND, Ohio — A man is dead after a woman struck and killed him as he crossed a Cleveland street early Sunday morning, police said.
It happened just after midnight in the 13800 block of St. Clair Avenue.
Police said a 56-year-old was attempting to cross the street, when a 20-year-old woman, driving a 2008 Ford Edge, struck him, sending the man into a parked car.
The woman then drove away from the scene without helping the man or calling 911 for help, police said. She allegedly drove to her home and informed her father of the crash, who alerted police.
The woman was arrested and will be charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and felony hit-skip.
Investigators say alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
