One person killed as motorcycle hits car in Cleveland

CLEVELAND - One woman was killed Saturday evening after the motorcycle she was riding on crashed into a car on a Cleveland street.

The motorcycle was being driven by a 24-year-old man and the 32-year-old woman was a passenger on the cycle. Police tell Fox 8 that the motorcycle was speeding when it struck the car that was turning onto Chatfield Avenue from Rocky River Drive at around 8 p.m. Both people on the motorcycle were thrown into the roadway.

The motorcycle passenger died at the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with serious injuries.

The 17-year-old driver of the car and an 18-year-old passenger in the car were not injured.

Police plan on presenting this case to the prosecutor's office.
