CLEVELAND - It's a crime that is becoming all too routine in northeast Ohio: thieves driving vehicles through store windows in an attempt at robbery - often, an ATM is the target.
That's what happened overnight Saturday to this BP station at West Boulevard and Lorain. The store's manager told Fox 8 that one employee was in the store when this happened. You can clearly see the suspects smashing into the building twice, then entering through the broken front window and grabbing the ATM.
While this is the first smash and grab at this location, a second business in Shaker Heights, owned by the same people, was also hit with a smash and grab Saturday as well.
The manager shared this video with Fox 8. He says that he believes the same group of men robbed both locations. They did not get away with the ATM at the Shaker location, though.
