Family looks for answers after transgender woman’s death in Cleveland

CLEVELAND-- A local family is looking for answers after a transgender woman was found dead in a driveway on Cleveland's east side.

The body of Brandi Bledsoe, 32, was discovered on Drexel Avenue near East 108th Street around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Cleveland police said the victim suffered head trauma and ruled the death a suspected homicide.

Family members, who know the victim as Brandi and Brandon, are remembering her.

"He was an artist. He was a self-made artist. God just gave him this talent. He was home-schooled so he never took a formal art class, but he had this amazing talent. And you know, he would do anything for anybody,"

Police are looking for suspects and a motive. They are not sure if Bledsoe's transgender status had anything to do with the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit at 216-623-5464.
