BEREA, Ohio– The Cleveland Browns signed quarterback Kevin Hogan, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

The rookie out of Stanford was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. Hogan spent the first five weeks of the season on the Browns practice squad.

They also terminated their contract with quarterback Charlie Whitehurst with an injury settlement. The veteran QB made his debut with the Browns on Sunday in the 33-13 loss to New England. Whitehurst threw 14 passes for 182 yards and one touchdown, before hurting his knee.

Cleveland signed defensive lineman Gabe Wright from the practice squad to the active roster. The Lions drafted Wright in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
