Two dead in apparent murder-suicide in Cleveland

CLEVELAND– Two people are dead in a suspected murder-suicide in Cleveland’s Lee-Miles area.

Officers were called to a house on Cloverside Avenue at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. Police said they heard a gunshot and surrounded the home. The SWAT team also responded to the scene.

At about 2 p.m., SWAT went inside, and discovered a man and woman deceased in a bedroom, according to Cleveland police.

Both suffered gunshot wounds. Police said the man, 76, and woman, 70, were married.

Their names have not been released.

This comes just one day after another murder-suicide in Cleveland. Police said Erlyn Rivera, 38, was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, Jorge Avilies, 45, before he turned the gun on himself. It happened at the Burger King on West 110th Street and Lorain Avenue.
