LORAIN, Ohio-- Spencer Hamlin remembers when his father installed a pool 10 years ago outside his childhood home on West 10th Street in Lorain.
"I remember my father finding bones in the back yard," said Hamlin.
But little did Hamlin know, that memory would resurface when the Elyria Police Department contacted his mother last month.
"They were asking me about the basement and things. I told them there was a new basement, but there had been some bones found in the backyard," Delora Hamlin said.
Delora Hamlin said the FBI was acting on a tip they might find the remains of Christine Kingsley, who was last seen in Elyria on June 22, 1995.
"They had the dog sniff around and things. Then Tuesday, they had a dig team come," Delora Hamlin said.
Elyria police said Kingsley disappeared when she was 17 years old.
"My father once found a young lady sitting in the front yard all sad and he asked her what was wrong and she said, 'This is the house where my sister passed,'" Spencer Hamlin said.
Hamlin said the FBI did not find any human remains in their backyard. However, police said they are reopening this 21-year cold case.
