Johnson, 6 foot 8 inch, 268 pounds, comes to the Browns from Arizona’s practice squad. He is in his third NFL season and is a Virginia grad.

Originally selected by San Francisco in the seventh round in 2012, Johnson has appeared in 16 career games with the 49ers, Colts  and Browns. He spent training camp with the Browns this year but was waived during final roster cuts.

Johnson will wear #57.

To make room for Johnson, linebacker Nate Orchard was placed on injured reserve. The team also said that linebacker Corey Lemonier was added to the injury report.
