Man in motorcycle helmet says he has bomb, robs bank in Euclid

EUCLID, Ohio-- Euclid police are looking for a man who robbed First Merit Bank on Lakeshore Blvd at around 1 p.m. Friday.

The suspect walked into the bank wearing a motorcycle helmet, large sunglasses and a "Carhartt" bodysuit.

Police say the suspect was carrying a book bag/backpack. He announced that "he had a bomb."

He demanded that a bank teller empty a cash drawer into a second bag; he then left the backpack in the lobby.

Police discovered the bag was full of rocks; no explosives were found at the scene.

The man left the area on a black and yellow motorcycle, described as a Suzuki RX 750. He drove away westbound on Lakeshore Blvd.
