CLEVELAND- Several parents and grandparents tell Fox 8 they are trying to figure out why it took about three hours for their children to get home from the William Cullen Bryant School Friday afternoon.
"We were frantic, " said Cindy Pagel, whose two grandchildren were on the bus.
She said they normally get home around 4:15 so when the bus didn't arrive at 4:45 they began calling the school but didn't get an answer.
A few minutes later they called police.
A school district spokeswoman says the students were transferred to a new bus number, but that change was not communicated to the school Friday . Another driver added the students to his stops, believing their bus was delayed.
The district says the bus driver meant well but it does not excuse the unnecessary delay or the confusion it caused for several families.
Parents say they are hoping the district makes changes so they are at least notified in the future when something like this happens.
