I TEAM: story leads to arrest in case of American flag destruction

STRONGSVILLE, OH - A FOX 8 I TEAM report on the destruction of an American flag has led to an arrest.Strongsville Police turned to the I TEAM to identify a second suspect in the case of a flag ripped down and cut up, an incident caught on camera. It happened last month outside Olmsted Heating and Cooling.

Initially, Strongsville Police and Parma Police identified a 16 year old girl in the video.

Then the I TEAM aired a follow-up, and hours later, police say a 17 year old boy was brought in by his mother. That teen is from Olmsted Township.

Both teens will face charges in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. Police say the destruction of a flag is considered by the courts to be protected speech. However, a prosecutor will decide what other charges the suspects should face.
