CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Firefighters from the Cleveland Division of Fire responded to a fire at an abandoned home on Hopkins Avenue early Monday morning.

They quickly got the flames under control, but learned the house was the scene of a murder just a few days before.

Cleveland Police said a 36-year-old man was shot inside the home late Friday night. Officers were called to the scene around 10 p.m. for calls of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a man collapsed in the street. He was rushed to University Hospitals where he was pronounced dead.

Firefighters suspect the fire at the house was intentionally set.

Investigators have not released any suspect information for either incident.
