CHARDON, Ohio — A child was killed after being hit by a car in Chardon Sunday afternoon.
According to a press release, the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at just after 3:30 p.m. The caller reported that she’d hit a child who she said had run in front of her car in the 200 block of Park Avenue.
Chardon police and fire arrived about 10 minutes later. The child was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital. He later died.
The investigation is still ongoing, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The child’s identity has not yet been released.
