Police respond to rash of overnight attempted smash and grabs in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Police responded to a rash of smash and grabs in the Cleveland area overnight.

One happened at just before 4 a.m. Monday at a gas station at East 89th Street and Buckeye. The would-be robbers smashed through the front window.

There is no word if they got away with anything.

Another smash and grab happened at Loan Max Title Loans on Euclid Avenue near Chardon Road. A mini-van smashed into the building, and police found the ATM in the parking lot.

Those robbers got away in a black SUV.

A third incident happened at the Family Dollar at East 121st Street and St. Clair. A vehicle tried to get through the security gate, but didn't have much luck.

The Family Dollar at East 74th Street and Superior was also hit. The would-be robbers didn't get what they were after in that case, either.
