SANDUSKY, Ohio — A Lakewood man was killed in a crash on the Cedar Point Causeway Sunday night.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, it happened at just after 8 p.m.
Gustava Walls, 37, was driving a 2007 Honda Accord, northbound on Cedar Point Drive at the time.
Two other drivers were headed south.
Reports state that Walls failed to negotiate a curve at a high rate of speed and went off the right side of the road. He re-entered the roadway and went left of center, hitting a 2000 GMC Sierra pick-up truck and then a 2015 Hyundai Elantra.
Walls’ vehicle then rolled several times off the left side of the road, where it came to rest in the grass. Wells was ejected. He was taken to the hospital, where he passed away.
The driver of the pick-up truck had an eight-year-old passenger inside. Neither were hurt.
The driver of the Elantra suffered a fractured elbow, and the passenger pelvis and ankle injuries. Both were taken to the hospital.
Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
