Ellet High School closed Monday after fire Saturday night

AKRON – Ellet High School in Akron is closed on Monday after a fire damaged a portion of the building over the weekend.

According to the Akron Fire Department, firefighters were called to the school on Saturday night around 11 p.m.

Once they arrived, they found light smoke throughout the hallways.

Back up was called, including 4 fire engines, 2 ladder trucks, 2 battalion commanders, a medical unit, a shift commander and an arson investigator.

After searching throughout the building, firefighters located the fire and extinguished it.

At this time, the extent of the damage is unknown.

Thankfully, there were no injuries.
