23 Cleveland schools closed along with several others in NE Ohio due to extreme heat

NORTHEAST OHIO – Several schools across Northeast Ohio, including 23 in Cleveland, are closed today due to the extreme heat.

In the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, the following schools are closed today:

Charles Mooney
Collinwood

Garrett Morgan

Louis Agassiz
McKinley
Michael R White
Newton D. Baker
New Tech West
O H Perry
Patrick Henry
Sunbeam
Tremont
Valley View Boys Leadership Academy
Walton
Whitney Young
Wilbur Wright
William Cullen Bryant
Willow

These schools will reopen tomorrow, Friday, September 9.

On Wednesday, 10 schools in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District were released early due to the excessive heat.

The buildings were without air conditioning, causing temperatures in classrooms to rise to extreme levels.
