Suspected shooter, victim identified in Twinsburg murder-suicide

TWINSBURG, OH-- Police have released the names of the suspected shooter and victim in a murder-suicide in Twinsburg.

Multiple police departments as well as SWAT teams were called out to a Twinsburg neighborhood Sunday evening for a standoff in a home there.

Just before 6 p.m., police received at least two calls of gunshots and a man down in front of his truck on E. Idlewood Dr.  Police arrived on the scene to find one man outside with a number of wounds. He was taken to the Cleveland Clinic, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Jerry Robinson, 57, of Northfield.

Police say the suspected shooter, now identified as Robert Waltzer, 58, re-entered his home and didn't respond to repeated attempts by police and SWAT to talk to him. After about four hours, gas was deployed to the home. SWAT went inside and found Waltzer dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

An investigation continues.
