Three arrested after Akron gas station robbed at gunpoint

AKRON, Ohio– A gas station in Akron was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night and now., three people are behind bars.

Employees said two suspects wearing black ski masks walked into the BP on West Waterloo Road just after 11 p.m. According to police, the robbers placed a handgun on the counter and demanded cash.

The pair got away with money and drove off in a maroon Pontiac G6.

Soon after, an officer spotted the car on Donald Avenue. Police arrested Savannah Lee Kennedy, 20, Ariane A. Lewis, 20, and a 16-year-old Akron boy.

Police said they found a 9mm pistol, holster, two black ski masks, several cell phones and cash inside the vehicle.

The women were taken to the Summit County Jail while the teen went to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

A mugshot for Kennedy was not available.
