Shooting in Lorain leaves two brothers dead
LORAIN, Ohio– The Lorain Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that two men dead.
Officers responded to an apartment on Leavitt Road in Lorain at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday for a reported shooting. There, they found two men had suffered gunshot wounds.
Police said Jose Morales, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. His brother, 38-year-old Angel Cruz, was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center.
Cruz was later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. According to Lorain police, he was in surgery Thursday morning but passed away shortly after that.
Police arrested Maurice Kimbrough, 29. He was charged with tampering with evidence, obstructing official businesses, having weapons under disability and carrying a concealed weapon.
