Suspect steals cash, cigarettes in Akron armed robbery

AKRON, Ohio-- A man robbed an Akron convenience store at gunpoint last week and now the police department is releasing video.

It happened at the Carnegie Pantry on Carnegie Avenue just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Akron police, the suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded all the money from the register. He also took all the Newport 100 cigarettes.

The man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants with a stripe down the side and a blue bandanna covering his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Magaw at 330-375-2490. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, call 911 and do not approach him.
