Mansfield bar owner shot and killed; Drugs found in home

MANSFIELD, Ohio– The Mansfield Police Department is investigating the death of a local bar owner.

Officers were called to a house on Fourth Avenue in Mansfield at about 3 a.m Sunday for a report of a “man down” during a possible burglary.

They found the body of 52-year-old Thomas J. Belcher. Police said he suffered multiple gunshot wounds. At the scene, officers also discovered containers and bags of illegal drugs.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is aiding Mansfield police. No arrests have been made.

Belcher was the co-owner of Belcher’s House of Rock, according to the Mansfield News Journal.
