Son accused in fatal stabbing of Lorain woman

LORAIN, Ohio– A man is in custody after Lorain police say he stabbed his mother Sunday afternoon.

Officers were called to a house on Concord Drive at about noon. The victim, identified as 51-year-old Kimberley Manilla, was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Lorain Police Lt. Ed Super said Zachary Manilla, 25, was arrested and charged with murder. He was taken to the Lorain County Jail.

A motive is unknown at this time.
