Calder Cup Champion Cleveland Monsters release 2016-17 schedule

CLEVELAND – Our AHL Calder Cup Champion Cleveland Monsters are gearing up for their 2016-17 season on the ice, and have announced their regular season schedule.

The team will play 76 games. starting with a home game on Friday, October 14th at 7 p.m. against the Rockford IceHogs.

The Monsters will play 68 of those 76  games against their Central Division rivals, with 12 meetings each scheduled between Cleveland and the Grand Rapids Griffins, Iowa Wild and Chicago Wolves, and then eight meetings each against the Manitoba Moose, Charlotte Checkers and Rockford. Cleveland’s only games outside the Central Division are against the Texas Stars and San Antonio Rampage.

Among promotions slated for this season are an entire Calder Cup celebration weekend.  The entire promotional schedule and single game ticket on sale dates will be announced soon.

This is the 10th season for the Monsters and the second as the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets.
