Orrville man shoots, kills neighbor after ongoing dispute

orvilleORRVILLE, Ohio -- An Orrville man has been arrested on murder charges, accused of shooting another man to death Thursday evening.

According to Orrville Police Department, it happened at around 7:41 p.m. in the 900 block of North Ella Street.

When police arrived, they found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Paul R. Claren, 67, was found at the scene and identified as the person responsible for the shooting. He was arrested on murder and firearms charges. He was arraigned Friday morning and issued $2 million bond.

The firearm used in the incident was recovered at the scene.

The girlfriend and best friend of the victim told Fox 8 that the ordeal started as a neighbor dispute. The victim allegedly told the suspect to slow down while driving through the neighborhood. They say the suspect then threatened to shoot the victim last week.

Police confirmed that the murder stemmed from a dispute between the two, but would not give any other details.

The incident is still under investigation.
