CLEVELAND -- People who live on the west side, get ready to change your plans if you plan to take the Shoreway to work. Starting Monday, it will be closed in both directions at Lake Avenue.

Even though many have known about these closures for a while, there are some concerns.

The concerns stem from the fact that these closures are going to be in effect for at least three weeks.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says in addition, the Mainline will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Lake Avenue and West 73rd Street.

So really, expect some delays if you are traveling in these areas.

The main reason this is happening, crews are replacing the Shoreway bridge over the ramp that carries Lake Avenue onto the Shoreway eastbound.

Though the changes temporary, there are concerns for drivers, not to mention business owners. Don's Lighthouse Grille is on Lake Avenue.

The general manager tells Fox 8 he'll miss the traffic during 'happy hour', but he has been communicating with his customers about the changes.

"We kind of knew that this was coming, they let us know and all that, so we'll let people know, we'll up maps and things to make sure people are aware," Kraig Sternquist said

"As time goes on people will be more aware of the traffic pattern."

ODOT has said drivers may want to carpool, use RTA, or take alternative routes.
