Three-year-old passes away after car accident in Cleveland

CLEVELAND – A 3-year-old boy has passed away due to injuries he sustained in a car accident last week in Cleveland.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, 3-year-old Jacyon McDaniel passed away on Saturday.

The crash happened on July 23 at the intersection of MLK and Union in Cleveland. According to a report, Lawrence Mitchell was driving above the speed limit when he lost control of his car and crashed.

Jacyon and two other juveniles, including an 8-year-old, were in the car at the time.

Mitchell was taken to University Hospitals for his injuries and the three juveniles were taken to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

According to court records, Mitchell has been charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular assault and two counts of endangering children.
