CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio– A Cuyahoga Falls police officer, who was hurt in a crash early Saturday remains hospitalized.

Police believe an Akron man was the driver of a red truck that hit several cars in the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department parking lot around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Right before the truck started damaging cruisers, police received a 911 call from a person who was "going off on law enforcement," the chief said.

Police said the same vehicle was later involved in a crash with a police car on Broad Boulevard, following a brief chase.

The officer, Ted Davis, was taken to an area hospital, according to police. He is an 11-year veteran.

The chief said the officer is in serious condition but his injuries are not life threatening.

"Our thoughts are with the officer and his family," said Chief Jack David.

He said the department is asking that the public keep the officers family in their thoughts as he recovers.
