Authorities say he was trying to unload bird-shot from a shotgun last month when he unintentionally discharged several pellets into the back of Matthew Fluty from Berlin Heights. The shooting happened at a home in Berlin Township, roughly 50 miles east of Toledo.

Erie County Chief Deputy Jared Oliver says the older teen was upset that day and has been apologetic. He turned himself in to the sheriff's office.
