CLEVELAND - Cleveland's Hard Rock Cafe opened its doors in 1998. And those doors will be closing for the last time at the end of business on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Hard Rock International, the parent company of the Cafe, made the decision to close the restaurant at Tower City back in May. In a statement, they said that they wanted to focus their efforts in Cleveland on the Hard Rock Cafe at Northfield Park as well as the Hard Rock Rocksino in the same location.

The Northfield Park location opened in 2013. It was Hard Rock International’s first-ever Rocksino gaming property and has become an very popular concert venue.

Employees of the closing cafe are being given priority consideration for open positions at the Northfield Park cafe and Rocksino gaming property.

"I'd say it's mixed emotions I would say there's a lot of sadness but I think overall everyone who was working there was pretty upbeat in a good mood, singing, dancing, it was fun," said Justin Ridge of Cleveland.

Ridge ate at the Hard Rock Cafe on Sunday.

Some traveled to Cleveland to experience Hard Rock's last day downtown.

"I came all the way up here just because it was the last day," said Jada Beasely of Youngstown.

"I was really happy because I got some souvenirs, something to take home to remember this day by."
