CLEVELAND – Hundreds of food items and beverages have been donated to the officers who will be working long hours next week for the Republican National Convention.

Some of the  items were dropped off directly at the police union hall, and other items were collected by neighboring departments.

Cleveland Police Union President gave the following statement to Fox 8:

We absolutely and sincerely appreciate the cards, emails, and donations of all kinds from the community!  We are each awestruck by the outpouring of support and will do everything in our power to protect Cleveland and make it shine on an international stage.

If we have any donated supplies left over we are committed to insuring we pay it forward by giving them to local charitable organizations.

Thank You Cleveland!
