Early morning crash kills one person in Medina County

GUILFORD TWP, OH – A Chippewa Lake woman lost her life in a one-car accident early Saturday morning in Guildford Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that Valerie Hinderman, a passenger in a Dodge Neon,  was thrown from the car after it drove off I-76 and overturned. She died at the scene.

The car was driven by Tantrell Dorsey of Akron. He was taken to Medina Hospital and later transferred to Akron City Hospital via helicopter. His condition is not known at this time. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

In a statement, the Highway Patrol also said that “the use of alcohol and drugs” was a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
