Authorities ID woman found assaulted in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park

PENINSULA, Ohio -- Authorities tell Fox 8's Dave Nethers they've identified the woman found shot multiple times in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park earlier this month.

The victim was found by joggers July 3 lying in a fetal position not far from a trail in an area off of Akron Peninsula Road. That's about two and a half miles south of the Peninsula Police Department.

When the victim was found, she was alive and able to speak. She was taken to the hospital.

The FBI is not releasing any information on the victim's current condition.

Authorities said Monday that they will not release the victim's identity. But they are still asking the public for any information regarding what may have happened to the woman.
