ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP, OH – An Orient, Ohio woman lost her life in an early morning crash in Ashtabula Township Sunday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that 28-year-old Amanda Millard died when the car she was a passenger in failed to handle a curve on Jefferson Road shortly before 2 a.m. The car drove off the road, hitting a mailbox, a fence and eventually a tree before stopping.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old Ashtabula man, had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Both Falera and Millard were wearing their seat belts, and the Patrol tells Fox 8 that alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash. They are continuing their investigation.
