CLEVELAND—Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving got quite the surprise when he returned to his home following the teams’ arrival at Hopkins Airport on Monday afternoon.
Irving’s neighbors lined the sidewalk and driveway of his Westside home and began cheering and clapping as he got out of the backseat of a black SUV. Irving acknowledged the crowd as he walked towards the front door.
Moments later, Irving returned to the front yard where he took pictures with all of the neighbors who gathered to welcome him home.
Irving hit a 3-point shot over Warriors guard Steph Curry with under a minute to play in Game 7 which secured the victory for Cleveland in Game 7.
Irving will join his teammates on Wednesday morning in downtown Cleveland for a Championship parade.
