MANSFIELD, Ohio- After more than 60 years, families living in Mansfield won’t be able to enjoy a favorite summer past-time.

City officials announced during a news conference Tuesday, they are closing Linden Pool for good.

Mayor Tim Theaker said there are too many structural problems that would cost too much to fix. It would be cheaper to build a new pool.

However, residents still have one other option if they want to cool down during the dog days of summer. The public pool at Liberty Park is back open after undergoing repairs.
