Transplant Games participants talk about importance of event, organ donation

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Thousands of athletes, along with their families and friends, from across the country are coming to Cleveland for the next six days to take part in the Transplant Games of America.

The Transplant Games are a multi-sport festival event for people who have undergone life-saving transplant surgeries as well as living donors.

The event, which runs through Wednesday June 15th, highlights the critical importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation while celebrating the lives of organ donors and recipients.

Three local athletes who are participating in the games stopped by Fox 8 News in the Morning to share their stories.
