DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Authorities in Ohio have captured a man who they say shot two people including a sheriff’s deputy, Fox 19 in Cincinnati reported.

The shooting happened Thursday night in Deerfield Township, about 25 miles northeast of Cincinnati.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office captured 19-year-old Mohammed Abdou Laghaoui following several hours of searching.

Authorities say the female deputy was shot while responding to report of a domestic situation at an apartment complex.

They say she was taken to a hospital, and was “conscious and alert.” She has been released from the hospital.

Another person also was shot. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Deerfield Township Fire Rescue sent out a tweet late Thursday warning of an active shooter situation. They advised people to stay inside and not to open their doors to strangers.
