Police: 14-year-old driving drunk with drunk father in passenger seat
WILKES-BARRE, PA – A 14-year-old Pennsylvania youth has been charged with driving while drunk.
It happened, police say, while his even drunker father was next to him in the passenger seat.
WNEP reports that Wilkes-Barre police stopped the car because it was driving erratically Wednesday night. When tested, the boy’s blood-alcohol content was .106. The state’s limit for adult drivers is .08. His 34-year-old father tested at a .26 blood-alcohol level.
The son was released to a sober family member. His case will be heard in juvenile court.
His father was arrested for child endangerment and corruption of minors. His preliminary hearing is June 14.
