Dogs at Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter looking for homes in time for summer

VALLEY VIEW, Ohio — There are lots of sweet dogs at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter who are still looking for their furever homes in time for summer.

It’s going to be a busy summer for the shelter!

On June 11 and June 12, the shelter will help support local cat rescues and host its first annual Feline Frenzy Adopt-a-thon. Cats from four area rescues are coming in hopes of adopting out their furry friends.

There will be a DJ, 50/50 raffle, face painting, a basket raffle and face painting.

The shelter is having its annual Tails on the Town fundraiser on June 18 on the rooftop of The Velvet Dog, 1280 W. 6th St.

The event features chefs Eric Williams and Rocco Whalen as well as local firemen Tim V. and Mike G. for the celebrity bartending face-off, ‘Fighting Fire with Fire.’

There will be a DJ, Sixth City Trivia, a silent auction and lots of door prizes. Tickets can be purchased on the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter website or in-house. They are $25 each. They include two drink tickets and food.

Adoption fees at the shelter are $95 and include microchipping, a license, the first set of vaccinations, spay/neuter and a rabies tag.

The shelter is located at 9500 Sweet Valley Drive in Valley View.
